21 Covid-19 deaths recorded in 24hrs, positivity rate now 3.43%

Twenty-one people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,531 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

At least 847 new infections were recorded during this period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,56,758, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 3.43 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 15.96 percent.

A total of 24,670 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.

At least 960 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,16,901 and the recovery rate at 97.88 percent.

Among the 21 deceased, 12 were men and nine were women. Of them, one was between 21-30 years old, two between 31-40, two between 41-50, eight between 51-60 and eight were above 60 years old, added the release.
