Bangladesh urges security council to stop illegal settlement of Israel
Bangladesh’s permanent representative and ambassador to the United Nations, Masud Bin Momen, urged the Security Council to take immediate steps to stop all Israeli aggression and violence, including the blockade of illegal occupation of the Palestinian territories in the occupied Palestinian territories.
On Thursday, January 25, in the United Nations Security Council, Ambassador Masud said in part to an open debate in the light of the recent situation in the Middle East with “Palestine questions.” This discussion was held in the chairmanship of President Kazhistan, the president of the Security Council this month.
Referring to the firm stand of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the Palestinian issue, Ambassador Masud said, “People of Bangladesh, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in the struggle for protecting the self-determination of the Palestinian people for establishing permanent, unified, independent and sovereign Palestinian state under the two-state solution framework by capitalizing East Jerusalem. Ambassador Masud expressed concern over the reduction in the budget for UNRWA, which could result in dire consequences for Palestinian refugees in various countries. He said, “We reiterate the need for ensuring adequate and sustainable funding for the Anroor (UNRWA) so that the lifestyles of Palestinian refugees are relatively easy”.
Ambassador Masud urged to give the highest priority to ensuring international protection to protect the Palestinian people from the oppression and persecution of aggressive atrocities over decades. He said, “Bangladesh hopes to have a positive and positive initiative in regional and bilateral ways to resolve Palestinian problems”.
The permanent representative expressed hope that the Security Council will work unanimously in an equitable, permanent, and peaceful solution to the humanitarian disasters and violence that is taking place worldwide including Palestine.
