BCCI fined US $ 8 million

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been facing major penalties for violating the law in multi-billion dollar deal with IPL broadcasting. The Competitive Committee of India (CCI) fined USD 8 million for the BCCI.

The amount of Bangladeshi coins, which amounted to Tk 66.88 million The BCCI has been instructed to pay this amount within 60 days.

According to the 44-page order, CCI said the BCCI was fined 52.24 crores for misusing power during the broadcasting agreement. In the last three financial years, the BCCI earned only 4.48 percent of its penalty.

Since 2008, Sony Picture Network has been holding the broadcast rights of the IPL. However, in September 2012, the Star India Group bought the broadcast rights for a $ 2.55 billion deal. The amount of money has increased by 150 percent over the previous deal.

Earlier, in 2013, the Anti-Trust Commission claimed that the BCCI contract with Soni was illegal with the contract. The BCCI has been facing bigger penalties since its release.
