BSF wants to talk to stop Rohingya entry in India
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) wants talks with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to stop Rohingya entry in India. The BSF-BGB DG-level meeting will be held in New Delhi in the first week of October.
The delegation will be represented by BGB DG Abul Hossain and BSF DG KK Sharma will be led by India.
The reason for India’s downfall is that more and more Rohingyas are trying to enter West Bengal and northeast states through the border. In that matter, India wants to inform Bangladesh at the DG level meeting of the army.
Confirming the matter, BSF DG KK Sharma said that in the meeting with the BGB, we would like to raise the Rohingya issue. Now let’s see how they respond.
Most of the 40 thousand Rohingyas entering India according to intelligence reports have entered the country in 2012-13 In the last three weeks, nearly 4 lakh Rohingyas have taken refuge in Bangladesh due to fresh violence in Rakhine province. Even earlier, the number of Rohingya who took shelter in Bangladesh at different times was around 4 million. In view of this, the Indian government, the country’s security agencies, and intelligence agencies might try to enter Rohingyas in greater numbers.
Regarding this, the BSF official said, due to the thick jungle and river areas in some places along the international border between the two countries, regular monitoring is not possible in those places. As a result, the Rohingyas go through the unprotected border with the possibility of intrusion into India.
