First Rohingya families have returned to Myanmar
Myanmar has said that the first family of Rohingyas who fled to Bangladesh has been taken back home. The United Nations has said that Rohingyas are not safe to return to the country.
After the start of the brutal military operation in Myanmar’s Rakhine in August of the year, about 7 lakh Rohingyas crossed the border and entered Bangladesh.
The United Nations has also made allegations against Myanmar against ‘ethnic cleansing’. Myanmar has denied the allegation.
According to Myanmar, when a family of five members reached the Rehabilitation Camp on Saturday, they were given the necessary equipment and ‘ID card’.
This is the first time a Rohingya rehabilitation case has been resumed after the Rohingya crisis.
Myanmar has sentenced 7 soldiers to jail earlier this month in connection with the involvement of 10 Rohingyas in the murder case.

On Saturday, Myanmar authorities have published a photo where a ‘Muslim’ family is seen to receive ‘Nationality Verification Card’. Myanmar does not use Rohingya term to refer to Rohingya
However, this card does not prove the citizenship of that country and Rohingya leaders of Bangladesh camp rejected the card.
Myanmar army started arbitrarily murder-rape and persecution in different Rohingya villages since the attack on police post last August last year. Rohingyas started to flee to Bangladesh to save lives.
The Rohingya fleeing said that soldiers were killed in the Rohingya settlements, killing men, and raping women. Besides, the whole village is burning.
