Sheikh Hasina-Modi inaugurated two railway tracks in Bhairab
Second Bhairab and second Titas bridge, built for rail communication between Dhaka and Sylhet, have been officially opened.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the bridge by video conference on Thursday.
At the same time, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also inaugurated ‘Bandhan Express’ at the Dhaka Cantonment Station on Dhaka-Kolkata route and customs and immigration programs at Kolkata Railway Station and Khulna-Kolkata rail link.
Meanwhile, a ceremony was organized under the Bhairab rail bridge for the formal inauguration. Railway Minister Mujibul Haque launched the inaugural function with video conferencing with Dhaka, Kolkata and Delhi.
These bridges are constructed by financing Indian Line of Credit (LoC). After the construction work the bridge has been opened. The Bhairab bridge was officially inaugurated with a Demu train.
