Twenty-one suicide attack in Kabul killed 25 journalists

At least 25 people, including eight journalists, were killed in a bomb attack in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul.

A BBC report said several people were injured in the attack on Monday morning.

Among the dead, AFP’s chief photo journalist Shah Marai is also in Kabul.

According to AFP quoting information from the country’s health ministry, the first attack was held near the headquarters of the Afghan Intelligence Service at 8am. The next attack was also in the same area.

Afghan Health Ministry spokesman Wahid Mazroh told local Tola News that the injured were taken to the hospital. Some of them are in critical condition.

Among the dead, there are eight journalists and four police officers, said Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish.

At least 45 people were injured in the attack, he said, a suicide attacker who came to the motorcycle launched the first attack. Then there people and journalists were mobilized in the same place after a while, the second attack was held.

The militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack by Islamic State through its news agency ‘Amak’, AFP reported.

Earlier on April 22, a suicide bombing in front of a voter registration center in Kabul killed 63 people.
