More than two children is not a government job

In April, a draft policy on population was created by the Assam government of India. After the marathon talks last Friday, the bill has passed the Assam Assembly.

According to the new policy, if there are more than two children, that person will not be able to employ any government service. Not only that, he will not be able to participate in panchayat or local elections.

State Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Vishwas Sharma said that state government employees will be brought about rapid change in the service roles. The state government has walked the path of this new law to bring about the control of the growing population of Assam.

In fact, Assam had a population of 2.16 million in the 2001 census. In the latest census of 2011, the total number of states has stood at 31.5 million.
