By 2013, the five petrol craft was built and handed over to Bangladesh Navy. The navy authorities initially decided to import two warships, named Great Gasoline Craft, from China to Navy. Later Shipyard proposed to build ships in Khulna. Shipyard, the shipbuilding machine of the country, was given the responsibility of building LPC, according to the recommendations of senior naval officials including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

On June 30, 2014, the agreement was signed with the Navy for Khulna Shipyard. The expenditure for the construction of each ship is estimated to be around 400 crore taka. These two LPCs were made from China, costing nearly one billion.
